Thank you for contacting Piper Jonas!

Please expect a response within one business day.

While waiting for a consultation call or estimate, you can read past client reviews or learn more about what to expect as next steps below.

Booking process

A non-refundable deposit is typically required to guarantee the date against other inquiries/bookings. The deposit may be waived for short-notice bookings such as funerals or last-minute surprise events, but typically applies for any event more than a week out. The process is initiated with an invoice for the deposit followed by a consultation over phone or email (client's preference) where timing, tune selection, and next steps are discussed.

Forms of payment

Accepted payment methods are meant to be as flexible and convenient as possible. The electronic invoice allows for debit/credit card payments directly through the invoice although additional methods are also available:

  • Deposits: checks, PayPal, Venmo, debit/credit cards, and Bitcoin

  • Balances due on the day of the event: cash, checks, PayPal, Venmo, debit/credit cards, and Bitcoin

For more information on the booking process, please visit the page on reservation deposits and payment options.

Considerations for the venue

Is there a suitable place to warm-up and tune the bagpipes prior to the start of the event and is it meant to be a surprise? If it is a surprise, is the tuning location far enough away so as to not be heard before the performance?

Bagpipe tuning

As Piper Jonas performs frequently, tuning remains fairly consistent and allowing the pipes to be warmed-up and tuned within 10-15 minutes. Once tuned, the bagpipes should maintain their sound for a considerable time - however weather and environment conditions may require the pipes to be re-tuned.

Travel

While willing to travel, please note that locations outside of 20 miles from Brentwood may incur an additional fee. Piper Jonas typically serves cities within the following Tennessee counties: Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford, Marshall, and Maury.

Uniforming

Piper Jonas wears a modern band dress uniform which includes (head to toe):

  • glengarry with cap badge

  • Inverness cape (for outdoor events when raining)

  • jacket (depending on weather/occasion)

  • shirt (short or long-sleeved depending on the weather/occasion), vest and tie

  • kilt and sporran

  • hose socks and flashes

  • ghillie brogue shoes

Ensemble performances

Given enough notice and based on availability, a small ensemble can be formed for an event. This could range from a couple pipers to a 'mini-band' of pipers and drummers. Feel free to bring this up in the consultation if you're interested in additional players.
